Q: I am having issues with my child’s subsidy. Who do I need to call for help?

Adoption assistance is available to many families who adopt certain children with special needs to offset some of the costs of supporting and legally adopting and supporting these children. Assistance is available to help with the child's medical and financial needs. Q: My child receives SSI/SSDI and I need to update or make changes for it?

A: You will need to log in to your account on the Social Security Administration website (click here), or contact your local office to schedule an appointment (office locator). Q: Does my child qualify for Personal Care Services (PCS) through their Medicaid? If so, what services are provided to the family?

A: Personal Care Services are a Medicaid benefit that helps clients with everyday tasks. These tasks are called activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. Q: I have an adopted child but live in a region you do not cover or the adoption is from another state, who do I contact?

If you adopted a child from State other than Texas, you must contact that State to enroll through one of their programs. Just go to Google and search “Post Adoption Services in (State Name)”.

If you adopted a child through DFPS in the State of Texas but live in a Region we do not cover, please click on the link for your Region and we will redirect you to the organization that can assist you and your family.
